About

DSC_0041xmasaSooo… a few years back, I created this site.

It took a lot of work and I loved it. I was 39, a stay-at-home mom with 5 beautiful girls, and was living a much different life.

Fast forward to 2014, and welcome to MythbusterBeauty.com! I am proud to be 45, and now a single-mom of 5 growing-up-waayyy-too-fast daughters. While originally from a small town in Indiana, I currently reside in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have also shifted my personal focus and lifestyle in many ways, and look forward to sharing those changes in posts to come.

First and foremost, I believe that a beauty revolution is in high order!

I have spent a great deal of time through trial (and sometimes fairly expensive errors) to find the best solutions for my personal beauty concerns. If you are passionate about skincare and cosmetics and are constantly searching for innovative, wonderful products, I hope this blog can help you.

One of my core beliefs is that great makeup compliments your face best when your skin is healthy and clear. Skin care excites me most as I have struggled with adult acne, sun damage, and scarring.  I am also an advocate of the naturally curly hair care method and independent beauty companies, being inspired by people who see a need in the marketplace and create businesses to fill it.

Our lives are so complicated.  Marketing claims can be misleading, and I need your help to debunk false promises and spread the word on good products.

My Mantra:

Everything we bring into our homes requires a little piece of our time and attention to care for it. I need to be selective and choose to hang onto things that “give back” in an emotional sense as much as they extract.

Please feel free to contact me with any (preferably kind) comments or suggestions at: jenhill@mythbusterbeauty.com

Looking forward to sharing!!

Jen ❤

I loved looking at your posts. I added a do it yourself bath recipe to my blog today. If you check it out let me know. I will have to come back here for more.
P.S. – I loved your camping picture. We moved from Oregon to the Southwest and love to camp. We may have to get up that way…looks pretty.

    Have a terrific day! Debbie

    Dear Jen,

You offer to help me while you have your OWN amazing site? I am ready to faint. You see the beauty in everything, from your dad to roses.

What a rarity! A few years ago in the summer, I worked with a millionaire and helped him compose/edit information about project reengineering. He and his family live in a $3 million house, and when I would visit him I was floored by the number of gardeners who not only cut and maintained grass but watered the plethora of roses growing at each mansion. All I could think was, “If you can’t stop and appreciate these amazing miracles, you’ve missed the entire point of life.” But you “get it.” What a great site you have!

    God Bless,
    Gigi

    Jen,
I love your blog. So inspiring. I wish that I had kept up with mine. You have inspired me to create another one once school slows down. I love your writing style- very personal and relaxed.
    Have a great night!
