FGW: Ole Henriksen’s African red tea trio
I may never go to Africa…
But Africa can come to me thanks to Ole Henriksen’s African red tea trio.
What a nice treat, three separate products to improve skin elasticity, glow, and muscle tone, all in one handy box. Said box contains African red tea mist, express the truth wrinkle resistance crème, and visual truth eye crème.
The African red tea mist claims to protect, renew, and revitalize the skin, but sadly the only thing that got renewed and revitalized was my kitchen floor, since my son thought the bottle looked pretty and fun. The bottle is not, however, sticky, so it slipped right out of his hands and the precious liquid anti-oxidants spilled out across the floor. Poor plastic bottle just didn’t stand a chance…..
I used the face and eye creams every evening as recommended. I prefer to use lighter products during the day due to my oily skin, so this fit into my schedule perfectly. The fragrance isn’t too terribly over-powering, with hints of citrus that give you a little boost. A little goes a long way with these thick products, so you will get more than your money’s worth out of them. I especially like that it encourages you to use the face cream on your neck. The funny lines on my neck have bugged me since junior high school and I’m game to try anything that might smooth them out a bit. I noticed a slight exfoliating effect after the first use, and my skin felt soft and silky after just a couple uses.
The eye cream is very thick and I recommend assessing the skin around your eyes before use. My eyes had been scrubbed a little too thoroughly the night before I started using it and it almost felt like I was rubbing them with an orange slice. Just a little sting, as you can imagine. Once my skin renewed itself the cream felt fine, but if you have extremely sensitive, thin, or tender eye skin you may want to avoid this or use it very sparingly in the beginning just to be sure.
The real effects of this power duo showed when I went on vacation and forgot them at home. No big deal, it’s only a week and a half right? Surely I could pick up something at my destination and make do. Imagine my surprise halfway through my trip when my skin started to look tired, dry, and splotchy. Smile lines started to appear under my eyes and no amount of moisturizer seemed to provide comfort. I was quite happy to return home to my family and my products.
I’ve been pretty pleased with this set. Paraben free and containing several ingredients you can recognize and pronounce, it’s a nice alternative to strong chemical laden products for anyone who might be entering that stage of their lives where anti-aging products are a concern, or for those who are blessed with skin that ages gracefully but could use just a bit of a boost. The set sells for $85, while the larger face and eye crème are $65 and $45 respectively. Do yourself a favor, save a little cash, and treat yourself to the set!
