Last week, I met with my friend Lisa King, owner of The Lovely Boutique at the South Towne Mall in Sandy, UT for lunch.  Lisa has an amazing vault of cosmetic knowledge due to being in retail and is always looking for terrific ways to save money.

One of the most popular beauty subjects is on mineral makeup foundation, and are there any drug store brands that can “cut the mustard.”  Lisa swears that the e.l.f. mineral makeup foundation is fabulous.  Although, I haven’t tried this yet, for $5.00, I have no problem recommending this product.  If you love it, fantastic, if you hate it, you are out 5 bucks.  Either way you can rave, or complain to me directly about your experience with e.l.f’s mineral line.

Bionic Beauty recently wrote up about her order at e.l.f. (eyes.lips.face) Cosmetics and mentions a great promotion to use while shopping there:

For every product you order, get 50% off another product (of equal or lesser value). This is a President’s Day special sale and ends March 1, 2008. Enter code EGPRESBC at checkout.

Overstock on Applicators! Get a free professional tool (brush, applicator, etc) with ANY purchase! ECAPPCY at checkout.

I haven’t tried the mineral makeup either, but have sampled MANY MANY products from ELF, and none have let me down. I especially LOVE the nail polishes, which are extremely long lasting! They are also free of formaldehyde, DBP and Toluene.

With your killer codes (thank you BB) my order ended up just shy of $16 and and over $6 of that was shipping! I’m going to try the mineral makeup and I figured I’d try some of the brushes too. For a buck apiece, why not?

and with the code ECTAPBY you’ll get free shipping on any order over $30.
You only get to use one code at a time, so figure out which one is a better deal and go for it!

And the best part? They usually throw in a few extra freebies too! I got the free lip balm from the code provided and then elf threw in a cell phone charm lip gloss! That will look Que-Te on my blackberry. Woo hoo!
