Me and My Guy

This is a picture of me and my husband Evan. Evan takes on many other titles like “Homer Simpson“, “Rock star“, and “Daddy” to our five daughters. I think Lorinda took a picture of the two of us while we were camping up in the mountains this summer.

Evan and I first met at the age of 7 in our hometown of Bloomington, Indiana.  Our families attended the same church and we later became good friends in high school. I always admired his wit and genuine goodness growing up.

My brother Ed always would come home from Scout Camp and would report about the latest prank Evan had pulled on the other scouts. One time he threw a watermelon rind in the woods and it accidentally pegged his Scoutmaster (who he disliked) on the head. Several scouts found themselves tied up to their cots and relocated by morning thanks to Evan’s penchant for mischief.

Evan has always loved to fish, mainly for large mouth bass. Evan once found a giant dead walleye fish that had washed up on the shore. He had someone take his picture holding up the fish and pretended he had caught it. He was the envy of all his fellow fishing buddies that summer!

There are chapters that could be written about all of the memorable things Evan did and continues to do. There is never is a dull moment in my marriage that is for sure… But for now, he is off traveling for work, in Orlando and then onto the Big Apple, and making new memories with his colleagues Jamison and Chris, poor fellows.

Jamison and Evan made Chris ride the Kraken roller coaster yesterday at Sea World in Orlando, and I guess he was pretty terrified!  The joke was on Evan when Chris proved braver than Evan and took the outside seat. Thank goodness for these business trips, gives me a chance to breathe and share with others all the great things Evan has to offer!

I love you Evan, and I am missing you terribly! Have great time in NYC. Jen
