Random Things I Can and Cannot Do

I was inspired after reading a post by my blogging bud Andi at Ethically Green yesterday. She is a very extraordinary woman of 19, I must say! To have been as motivated and aware at her age! When I was 19, I was a freshman at Indiana University. Taking classes like: Comparative Literature, French, Finite Mathematics, Biology, and Ballroom Dance. I also worked part time at our University Library, one of the largest and most amazing libraries in the United States. My job there was to file check-out cards, complete renewal requests, and bill and search for missing books. All before the library system was computerized, and all by hand! Man, I feel old…

Andi made a list of several things that she is proficient at. As we all know, imitation is the highest form of flattery. I assembled my own list:  what we share, and some other things I am good at, or take an interest in.  I have also listed a few things that I really stink at as well.

What Andi and I have in common:

  • Yoga
  • Stick shift driving (my dad made me learn on stick)
  • Baking
  • Building fires
  • Cooking (have discovered Dutch oven cooking recently and love it)
  • Basic HTML, but still working on it
  • Gardening, my first love, although I am not good with indoor plants…

What I can add:

  • Basic Plumbing and Electrical Work: switches, fixtures, have replaced garbage disposals, faucets, toilets, and am really good with water sprinkler replacement. (my Dad was an electrician)
  • Can sing harmony and read music
  • Great appreciation for Thai, Indian, German Food & Fine Chocolate
  • Reading stories out loud to my kids and to their classes-
  • Interest of skincare and cosmetic products, organic preferences and homemade items used as well
  • Photography

What I completely stink at:

  • Juggling
  • Knitting
  • Ironing
  • Joke Telling (I am working on this one, but I always forget parts and goof them up!)

Feel free to imitate this post and comment on your own abilities! Jen

Jen, you are my new favorite blogger! You have a Blogger and a WordPress version? I like the WordPress better personally- I used Blogger for my last blog and wasn’t a fan…

Yes, the same exact blog, and am feeling a bit schizo because of it. I am debating about which I like better. Word Press really offers more freedom and I get so many more visitors here…

For now, I will live in both worlds, but at sometime I hope to choose one and stick to it.

Thanks so much for your admiration. I really appreciate it. XO Jen

Oh wow, you really got me here. What I am really good at is starting projects and abandon them when they’re half done. haha, sadly. Then I am a real talent when it comes to day dreaming. I have an eye for fasion and make-up but NOT when it applies to me- my wardrobe is still a mystery to me. I should learn new things. Starting with tomorrow. But then again, I always say this to myself :))

I consider myself fashion impaired as well. If I have a clean shirt and a bra on, I really feel put together! 🙂

I do love a great pair of jeans though…
