One of my favorite Simpson’s episodes is when Marge Simpson writes a letter addressing the excessive use of violence in the Itchy and Scratchy cartoon program. After receiving an insulting response letter and being referred to as a “screwball” from the CEO of the Itchy and Scratchy show, Marge states defiantly, “I’ll show them what one screwball can do!”
This post is not protesting cartoon violence. I am simply making the point that sometimes the little guys (in this case the beauty bloggers), need to join forces to speak out against a negative campaign against them.
The Beauty Blog Network sited 30 Beauty Bloggers responses to an article in the NY Times: Beauty bloggers respond to the NYTimes. | The Beauty Blog Network.
On the Simpsons episode, after much protest from the community, the Producers of the Itchy and Scratchy Show give in and and decide to tone down the violence on their cartoon. The same CEO announced wearily, “The Screwballs have spoken.”
In this setting of Beauty Bloggers vs. the NY Times, I can wear the title of “Screwball” proudly.

Hello! Thank you so much for your support and letting your readers know about this. We definitely do not plan to take this lying down. And if you read the mass majority of beauty blogger response out there, it becomes very apparent that the NYT didn’t bother to do their research. Maybe they’ll get it right one day.
